School Funding and Decile System Under Review There has been a lot of publicity recently about this funding review. Global Funding could well lead to more complex work for Boards of Trustees; fewer hours for teacher aides and support staff; fewer teachers and larger class sizes and less job security for teachers. This is not what we want for our schools. As a result of this, the teacher unions have planned (unprecedented) combined Paid Union Meetings for NZEI and PPTA members across the country. These, we are sorry to say, are taking place in school time which is going to cause some disruption. For Marlborough, our combined meeting is scheduled for 9 am, Tuesday, 13th September, at Marlborough Boys College. Â In our case, as the buses will continue to run at the normal times, myself and Mrs.BB will be at school to ensure all students are fully supervised until teachers return for normal duties.
